Consultations

Your first appointment will be with Dr Boyne to discuss your healthcare needs. Together we will establish a plan of management to best meet your condition and appropriate investigations, or treatments will be arranged.

Please bring any relevant past medical records or radiology images/reports that you have. Please also bring a list of current medications and supplements.

Yes, all first consultations are discussion only. You will be notified of any pre-consultation requirements prior to your appointment if required.

This is a personal choice. A relative or friend is more than welcome to attend your appointments to help understand and remember the outcomes of the consultation.

Boyne Vascular is primarily located at the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower, but also has consultations available at Oxley and Brookwater.

Surgery

Dr Boyne performs surgery at The Wesley Hospital, Auchenflower and The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston.

Post operative care and recovery does vary significantly depending on the type of surgery involved and the general health of the individual patient. The likely outcomes and potential side effects will be discussed as appropriate for each individual situation.

The need for surgery will depend on the underlying medical condition. Often surgery is required, and this will be explained during your consultations.

Payment

Fees will vary depending on your individual requirement’s. Please refer to the Fees and Payments page for further information.

Yes, we accept Medicare and are able to send your claims directly to Medicare.

Yes, we accept private health insurance. We recommend checking with your provider to ensure you have appropriate cover.

No, private healthcare is not necessarily required. Dr Boyne can provide intermediate surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Other options can be discussed as required.
